Before I applied for scholarship, I didn't even know what did research proposal mean? Why every scholarship for graduate programs always need it?

What is research proposal (RP)?

RP is a propose topic of a research in a specific field.

It tells all the step-by-step process about the interest topic.

It describes the field of study within which your work lies, and refers to the current condition of litterateurs, or any recent studies or debates in the field.

It highlights the originality of your ideas and work.


Why is RP so important?

RP provides you high opportunity to show your potential for a graduate research work that will help you to convince the committees for the admission letter.

As such, it demonstrates that you have the abilities to combine your ideas effectively and critically.


RP is one of the most important documents of your scholarship application and it may differ depending on the field of your study.

  2. Examine whether your proposed topic is suitable for your research field

RP outline

An interesting and successful RP must include:

  1. Research topic

  2. Introduction of your research topic

  3. Research objective and research questions

  4. Literature reviews (must related to your research topic and the updated literature)

  5. Research methodology

  6. Conclusion

  7. References

RP must not less than 800 words.

It should be up of 1000 to 5000 words at most.
